From Conservation Science and Practice to Hands-on Agriculture
ConservationLinks was founded in 2015 by academics who realized that there was a disconnect between ground action and environmental, climate change and conservation science. Science has communicated to society on what needs to be done, but it has not led to sufficient action.
The founding of ConservationLinks was the beginning of when the founders moved from full time academia to roles in NGOs and subsequently set up their own companies where they effect change through the application of science to address problems in the world.
Today, our projects covered a wide range of services including environmental consultancy, academic studies and hands-on agriculture.
These projects have covered different types of tropical ecosystems from swamps to the mountaintops.
2016 was a pivotal moment for ConservationLinks, as we were able to channel the revenue from our environmental consultancies services to purchase our first farm in the mountains of Sri Lanka and thus started our agroforestry arm.
The future remains promising for our planet and people.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.”. Learn more about UN’s 17 SDGs.
Importance of Conservation Links’ work at the global scale
