Not to be confused with Cassia Cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon (True/ Pure cinnamon) – Cinnamomum zeylanicum syn. Cinnamomum verum, Cinnamomum zeylanicum blume is richer in phenolic compounds than other cinnamon types and boasts a lower coumarin content, rendering it safe for consumption without worrying about potential liver damage.
Ceylon cinnamon is expensive, rare, safe and recommended variety over all other varieties including Cassia, Korintje and Saigon. True cinnamon is graded as the fourth most expensive spice in the world. 80%-90% of world’s production of this product belongs to our small Asian country, Sri Lanka.
